I also love an activity I found on the Nerdy, Nerdy Nerdy website at http://www.nerdynerdynerdy.com/2014/07/when-students-say-i-cant-do-it.html On the website, mom/teacher blogger Dallas explains how she didn't want the chart to just become a visual in her classroom. She wanted the kids to really think about the language and start to develop their own phrases for growth mindset. So she gave her students only the top 3 examples and left the rest of the right side of the chart blank. She then had her students work in pairs or small groups to fill in the chart with their own examples. I think this is a great way of setting the tone and mindset at the beginning of the year so that students can start thinking about growth mindset right away and have a positive outlook on the school year ahead.
